The Nanny

Team

Owner and the original Nanny

My name is Michelle and I’m the owner of Nanny Dolittle LLC. After working in the corporate world for over 25 years I decided I wanted to care for and spend time with animals, which is my passion. I feel a strong connection to animals and want to care for them and keep them safe and secure. I treasure the time I get to spend with them and feel it’s both a joy and a privilege to get to do so.

Growing up in Colorado and Canada my family had a dog and a cat, and as an adult I’ve had several dogs. Right now I’m the guardian to dogs Thelma and Louise, mixed-breed sisters, who add more joy to my life than I can put into words. You can see them in the 'About' section of this website under the words 'Who’s the Nanny?'

I've done some volunteering with a horse-therapy organization that helps transform the lives of people with disabilities. I have also volunteered at a local animal shelter, and with Special Olympics.

I really do love all kinds of animals! I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, raccoons, horses, turtles, and more recently a bearded dragon lizard!

I would really like the opportunity to love and care for your precious pets.

Dog walker and Pet Care Specialist

I’m a born and raised Washingtonian whose youth was filled with a wide variety of animal companions sharing my childhood home. Currently, I live with and dote on my three cats - Ronin, Jagger, and Shiva - who have each been with me for over ten years. Playtime is very serious business around here. So is cuddle time. I’ve also got Watson the hamster but he’s a bashful fellow who would rather run on his wheel than be out in his ball. It just wouldn’t be home without their furry faces!

My love and dedication to animals has been a huge part of my life since I can remember. I’ve lived with every pet possible, from cats and rats, dogs and lizards; to birds and hamsters, hedgehogs and fish - I’ve cared for and cleaned up after it all! My family even bred collies for a time so wrangling a herd of puppies was a typical chore around the house, and one us kids all fought to call dibs on.

I believe every creature has their own personality and preferences and I make it my job to understand them and treat them with the respect and care they deserve. To me, they are as much our friends as the humans in our lives.

I look forward to the chance to get to know your pet!
