The Nanny

Owner and the original Nanny

My name is Michelle and I’m the owner of Nanny Dolittle LLC. After working in the corporate world for over 25 years I decided I wanted to care for and spend time with animals, which is my passion. I feel a strong connection to animals and want to care for them and keep them safe and secure. I treasure the time I get to spend with them and feel it’s both a joy and a privilege to get to do so.

Growing up in Colorado and Canada my family had a dog and a cat, and as an adult I’ve had several dogs. Right now I’m the guardian to dogs Thelma and Louise, mixed-breed sisters, who add more joy to my life than I can put into words. You can see them in the 'About' section of this website under the words 'Who’s the Nanny?'

I've done some volunteering with a horse-therapy organization that helps transform the lives of people with disabilities. I have also volunteered at a local animal shelter, and with Special Olympics.

I really do love all kinds of animals! I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, raccoons, horses, turtles, and more recently a bearded dragon lizard!

I would really like the opportunity to love and care for your precious pets.

My name is Bethany and I have been working with Nanny Dolittle (ND) for a year now. Before I worked for ND I worked at another pet sitting company for about 4 years. Due to unfortunate circumstances, that business was closed.

I love working with animals and taking care of our fuzzy clientele. I am familiar with both dogs and cats and thoroughly enjoy working with both. My favorite dog breed is the Boxer; my family owned one up until recently but she died at the ripe old age of 10. We also lost our cat last year so it’s been tough going but we had so many good times with them that we can’t be too sad. We are currently caring for a Cavalier King Charles for my sister, which is an awesome snuggle buddy, and I’m hoping to adopt a cat soon so that my house can be full of animals again! I’ve also had a couple of rats so I’m not unfamiliar with rodents. : )

I’m very much an animal person and can’t imagine a life without a little buddy around. I will always treat your animal with the love and care that I would give to my own.

I have loved animals all my life and currently have two dogs and two cats all of whom are rescues. They are loved and spoiled and I could not imagine a life without a furry member as part of my family.

For the past seven years, I've walked many dogs of all shapes and sizes plus taken care of numerous kitties. I recently moved north and was very fortunate to find Nanny Dolittle so that I could continue doing what I love most. Being greeted by wagging tails, slurpy kisses and purrs makes my day.

I look forward to taking care of your pet the same way as I would look after my own.

Hello my name is Jennifer and I'm so happy to have joined the Nanny Dolittle Team!

I have been very fortunate to have worked in veterinary medicine both in teaching (at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine) and in the clinical setting at two different pet hospitals. I have worked as a Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Receptionist, Groomer's Assistant, Kennel Attendant, and Zookeeper's Aide.

I love all animals and have worked with many species including apes and monkeys.

I have worked with over 10 different animal shelters and rescues as well and it was very rewarding helping them get healthy and adopted out into loving forever homes!

Right now I have a dog, a Shepherd mix, named Joey who is a retired teaching dog from UC Davis. He is the best family dog. I enjoy hiking with him and we are both in our element while in the outdoors. I also have a cat named Patches who is always getting into trouble.

I love caring for pets and making sure they are happy and healthy and I look forward to giving your fur babies lots of attention and love!

I was raised by my outdoor—hunting, fishing father and a deaf mother in Washington State. I grew up in a household with dogs (Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Golden Labs, German Shorthairs, and a couple of outdoor cats.) My father’s best friend was the local veterinarian, who taught me to be ever mindful of how to look for physical issues with any domesticated animal. He showed me how to give doggie / kitty massages to make sure hips and tailbones were not out of alignment and to feel for slight hot spots that could mean inflammation of joints or a sore developing, to rub and pet animals looking for bumps (cysts, tumors) while giving the animal lots of joy and happiness with the massages.

I have owned all kinds of pets from small to large (Miniature Poodles, Teri-Poos, Doberman Pincers as well as raised Canadian Black Labs and Siamese, Burmese, Calico and Orange Tabby cats). My friend, Veterinarian Ron S., states “she has been known to help in an emergency by taking an abandoned cat for the holiday—but never needed to return them unless their owner has been found.” HAHAHA.

Now retired, I share my life with Scooter, an Orange Tabby who is into everything --opening drawers and cupboard doors. And I work for Nanny Dolittle and “get to” visit and love on dogs and cats. Life is Good!!
